Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC in Abingdon, VA, is seeking a Class B Lineman to construct and repair energized and de-energized transmission systems. You may travel to different job sites, including out-of-state locations, and will report to the Foreman.

The role emphasizes safety and requires a CDL, three years of transmission line experience, and willingness to work outages, storms, and on-call emergencies.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of recent transmission line experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair energized and de-energized transmission systems while prioritizing safety.
• Install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Understand switching, tagging procedures, grounding, and induced voltage on de-energized lines with proper tools.
• Climb structures using approved methods and equipment.
• Work at heights near energized equipment and in varying weather conditions.
• Operate and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners and pullers, and other transmission line equipment.
