Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking a Transmission Apprentice Lineman to assist Transmission Journeyman Lineman and the Foreman while in training. This role focuses on construction and maintenance of poles, power lines, and related equipment for electricity distribution, emphasizing safety and on-the-job learning.

The position supports the Line team and collaborates with department personnel, performing tasks such as line builds, pole installations, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Valid and current state Driver’s License.
• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• 3 years of lineman experience.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Transmission structure replacements, wire pulling, new line builds.
• Perform construction, maintenance, or repair work of Transmission lines.
• Install and maintain wood poles and steel towers of all heights, including setting, framing, and installing hardware, and other related materials.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and specialized equipment used in the electric utility industry.
• Safely identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit and have familiarity with induced voltage.
