Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking an Apprentice Lineman C to assist Journeyman Lineman and Foreman while training in the construction and maintenance of poles, power lines, and related equipment for transmission and distribution of electricity. Responsibilities include line construction, inspection, and customer facility work, with emphasis on safety and timely job completion.

Valid driver's license required; OSH A-10 and CDL are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Electrical trade experience is preferred.
• Class A CDL is a plus.
• OSHA 10 Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical or power lines.
• Provide technical skills for operation and maintenance of reliable electrical services for consumers.
• Connect/disconnect, install/remove, and relocate electrical devices on customer facilities.
• Route or reroute power lines around existing lines and structures.
• Inspect and/or remove damaged power lines.
• Assist in setting or replacing poles, digging holes, and related tasks.
• Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
• Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized lines as needed.
• Provide backup for Apprentice Lineman duties and complete required documentation.
• Possibly troubleshoot issues on customer equipment.
• Drive bucket truck to jobsite and manage truck stock.
