Job summary

Nebraska Public Power District invites applications for the Apprentice Line Technician Intern - Transmission Summer 2027 at York Operations Center, York, Nebraska. This internship runs mid-May to mid-August 2027, with potential for overnight travel and a $1000 housing stipend.

Personal safety and near-term coursework in Utility Line are required. Applicants must complete the first college semester in the Utility Line program and be certified to climb with an accredited institution; Class A CDL

Qualifications

• Learn from experienced line technicians in the field (mid-May to mid-August 2027).
• Willingness to climb wood poles, steel towers up to 300+ ft for repairs and construction.

Responsibilities

• Learn and be mentored by experienced line technicians.
• Perform repairs, maintenance and construction on transmission lines as required.
