Job summary

Nebraska Public Power District is seeking an Apprentice Line Intern for Winter 2027, located at Scottsbluff Office, Chadron Office, Ogallala Operations Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. The internship runs Jan 4, 2027 to May 17, 2027, and reports to the Distribution Supervisor.

You must have completed the first year of the Utility Line program and be able to climb wood poles safely. A Class A CDL is preferred; a background check, physical, and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed first semester of college in Utility Line program.
• Certification to climb through school program.
• Willing to travel up to 25% within Nebraska.

Responsibilities

• Climb wood poles to perform repairs and construction.
• Work safely under supervision and follow policies.
• Maintain favorable relations with property owners and District personnel.
• Operate and maintain tools and aerial equipment as required.
