Job summary

Nebraska Public Power District invites applications for the Apprentice Line Technician Intern - Distribution Summer 2027 in multiple NE locations including Kearney, Norfolk, Plattsmouth, South Sioux City and York. The internship runs mid-May to mid-August 2027 and requires completion of the first year in a Utility Line program and a CDL. Housing stipend is provided.

Travel up to 25% may be required. The incumbent will learn from experienced line technicians, climb poles, and perform repairs to

Qualifications

• Must have completed the first semester of the Utility Line program.
• Must be certified to climb through an accredited institution.
• Class A CDL required at start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Climb wood poles to perform repairs, maintenance and construction.
• Assist in operating and maintaining distribution and subtransmission lines.
• Report to the Distribution Supervisor and adhere to safety guidelines.
