Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for an Apprentice Line Intern - Winter 2027 at Scottsbluff, Chadron and Ogallala locations in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

The internship runs January 4, 2027 through May 17, 2027. Interns will climb wood poles to perform repairs and construction under the supervision of experienced line technicians, with eligibility for a housing stipend and potential travel within Nebraska.

Qualifications

• Must have completed first semester of college in Utility Line program.
• Certified to climb through an accredited institution.
• Class A CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Climb wood poles to perform repairs, maintenance and construction as required.
• Report to Distribution Supervisor at the respective locations.
• Some overnight travel may be required; safety footwear meeting ASTM F2413-05 specifications.
