Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is offering an engineering internship focused on transmission line design. You will assist engineers in overhead line design, PLS-CADD modeling, and drafting, while gaining hands-on experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS.

Strong teamwork and a detail-oriented mindset are essential. You’ll participate in design reviews, field data collection, and documentation preparation, with mentorship and exposure to industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Knowledge of design software like AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or PLS-CADD is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with overhead transmission line design and PLS-CADD modeling.
• Support drafting and mapping using AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or similar software.
• Implement engineering redlines and ensure drawing accuracy.
• Perform basic engineering calculations such as sag-tension analysis under supervision.
• Help prepare documentation, reports, and design packages for project deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop engineering solutions.
• Participate in design reviews, field data collection, and technical meetings.
• Maintain organized records of design data, drawings, and project notes.
