Job summary

GFT Infrastructure Inc. in Monroeville, PA is seeking a Transmission Line Drafter to join our Power Business Group. Hybrid-remote work format.

The role involves preparing detailed engineering drawings and construction documents for overhead transmission line projects, working with experienced engineers and designers to deliver high-quality design on schedule. Ideal candidate has 4–8 years drafting experience and proficiency in AutoCAD; MicroStation and PLS-CADD are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, CADD Technology, or related field.
• 4–8 years of drafting experience in utility/power/civil/structural projects.
• Experience developing general arrangement drawings, structure details, reinforcement drawings, and assemblies.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of MicroStation; experience with PLS-CADD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting support to transmission line engineers and senior drafters.
• Prepare and develop construction drawing packages.
• Develop plan and profile drawings using PLS-CADD data.
• Develop structure detail, reinforcement, and assembly drawings.
• Develop structure loading drawings using loading calculations and standard details.
• Prepare permitting exhibits for crossings.
• Learn and implement client drafting standards and quality requirements.
• Review drawings and provide feedback to junior drafters.
• Support project teams in delivering high‑quality design documents on schedule.
