Job summary

GFT Infrastructure Inc. in Monroeville, PA is seeking an Entry Level Transmission Line Drafter to support electric utility and power transmission projects, preparing detailed drawings and construction documents for overhead lines.

You will work with experienced engineers and designers in a hybrid-remote format. Ideal candidates have an associate degree in engineering technology or related field, 0–3 years drafting experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD; exposure to PLS-CADD and MicroStation is

Qualifications

0-3 years of drafting experience.
Interest in power, electrical, or transmission line design through coursework or internships.
Exposure to general arrangement drawings, structure details, reinforcement drawings, and assemblies.
Basic proficiency in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Provide drafting support to transmission line engineers and senior drafters.
Prepare and develop construction drawing packages.
Develop plan and profile drawings using data and exports from PLS-CADD software.
Develop structure detail, reinforcement, and assembly drawings.
Develop structure loading drawings using provided loading calculations and standard structure details.
Prepare permitting exhibits for highway, railroad, and waterway crossings.
Learn and implement client-specific drafting standards and quality requirements.
