Sargent Lundy in Charlotte, NC is seeking a transmission line drafter to join a multi‑discipline team. You will develop transmission drawings using CAD tools and gain hands‑on training in PLS‑CADD, AutoCAD 3D and Microstation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting, or high school diploma with 2+ years drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop transmission and distribution drawings using CAD tools in a multi‑discipline team.
• Gain hands‑on training in PLS‑CADD, AutoCAD 3D and Microstation.
• Create master sketches showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities.
• Interpret input from engineering specifications, weight/volume calculations and stress factors.
• Explain drawings to engineers for appropriate design adjustments.
