Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking a transmission line drafter to support the development of transmission and distribution line drawings, collaborate with engineers, and apply CAD tools.

The role offers hands-on training in 3D software such as PLS-CADD, AutoCAD 3D and MicroStation, with in‑office presence three days per week. Candidates should have associate degree in drafting or related experience; strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting or equivalent experience.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Draft transmission/distribution line drawings in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Apply CAD skills and hands-on training in 3D environments (PLS-CADD, AutoCAD 3D, MicroStation).
• Develop transmission line plans, profile drawings, hardware details, material lists and grounding details.
• Create master sketches to scale showing installations relative to existing facilities and exact specifications.
• Interpret input from engineering specifications and explain drawings to the project team to support design adjustments.
