Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group seeks a Design Engineer - Transmission Line to design, analyze, and support high‑voltage transmission projects, applying PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, and structural analysis to deliver safe, reliable infrastructure.

The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, 2+ years of HV line experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation and ArcGIS, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil/structural engineering degree required.
• 2+ years of experience with routing and design of high voltage overhead transmission line facilities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or similar CAD tools.
• Experience with power distribution software (PLS-POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD preferred).
• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC design codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform, lead, and oversee overhead transmission line design including PLS-CADD modeling and line routing.
• Utilize AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS for scaled drawings and mapping.
• Implement engineering redlines with precision and ensure accuracy before finalizing drawings.
• Conduct calculations such as voltage drop, pole loading, and wire tension assessments.
• Prepare joint use authorizations based on field data and engineer redlines.
