Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. in Odessa, Texas, seeks a Groundman to start a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation’s power grid. You will report to the Foreman and perform essential field labor.

The role involves installing and repairing overhead transmission lines, working outdoors in all weather, lifting up to 50 pounds, and being available for outages, storms, and on-call rotations. A CDL within 60 days and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 60 days.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair de-energized powerlines while putting safety first.
• Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Regularly lift heavy tools and equipment as part of rigorous physical labor.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good work order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow all safety protocols and understand when to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
