Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Groundman to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems. You will work with a foreman and a crew to install and service underground facilities while prioritizing safety and efficient task completion.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to travel, and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Expect on-call rotations and overtime as needed to support outages and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Adhere to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Capable of working in varying outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems while putting safety first.
• Help install and repair underground facilities, underground conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment to include backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Understanding of when to wear personal protective equipment.
• Will perform rigorous physical labor.
