Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is hiring a Groundman to support construction, repair, and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems.

You will work with a Foreman and perform rigorous physical labor in outdoor environments, including outages and on-call rotations. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining excavation equipment, installing underground facilities, and following all PPE and safety protocols to protect personnel and assets.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform rigourous physical labor.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Valid Driver's License; ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction, repair, and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems.
• Support installation of underground facilities, conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain and operate excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators, pulling equipment).
• Work outdoors in varying conditions; participate in outages and on-call rotations.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE requirements, including insulated protection precautions.
