Job summary

Toth and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Transmission Engineer I/II in Billings, MT to design high‑voltage transmission lines, poles, and substations.

You will perform structural and electrical analyses, develop staking plans, and assemble complete construction packages under mentoring from a Project Engineer. The role requires an ABET‑accredited engineering degree, 1+ year in transmission design, and an EIT with plans for PE licensure.

Qualifications

• BSCE/BSME/BSEE from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
• 1+ years of experience in transmission line design preferred.
• EIT certification and plan to obtain PE license.
• Strong organization, planning, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design high-voltage transmission lines, poles, and substation structures; perform analyses to ensure reliability.
• Prepare staking sheets, materials lists, and construction packages (plan/profile sheets, bills of materials, staking, foundation details).
• Use PLS-CADD and other software to create virtual models and staking plans.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and engineers to support project execution and timelines.
• Review deliverables for quality and accuracy; ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
