Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Akron, OH is seeking an undergraduate co-op student to collaborate with our Transmission & Distribution teams. You must be enrolled in a formal co-op program and available to work full time during Fall 2026, supporting project work and business initiatives.

This role offers exposure to electrical transmission project design, substation concepts, and office software tools while developing communication, problem solving, and leadership skills in a professional engineering

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized, accredited program required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
