Nebraska Public Power District seeks an entry-level Transmission System Control Operator – Apprentice to train for critical transmission and generation operations. You will learn to implement real-time actions for stable grid operation, monitor high-voltage transmission with EMS, and work under NERC and RE reliability standards.

Competenze

• Associate degree in electrical or electronics technology required or substituted with related experience.
• NERC System Operator certification preferred; progression program completion within 24 months.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute for up to 3 years of related electrical experience.

Mansioni

• Train for real-time actions to ensure stable and reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System.
• Monitor high voltage transmission using EMS and determine solutions to complex problems.
• Operate transmission system in compliance with NERC/RE standards and monitor tie line data.
• Complete requirements of the System Operator Progression Program.
• Assist in switching of HV and EHV lines following safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain voltage profiles and control VARs in accordance with standards.
