Job summary

Nebraska Public Power District is seeking an entry-level Transmission System Control Operator - Apprentice in Doniphan, NE. The role trains to support the stability and reliability of the Bulk Electric System, monitors high voltage transmission, and learns switching under NERC and RE standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electrical/electronics technology with 3 years of ops experience or NERC cert.
• NERC Certified System Operator with Transmission Operator/RC cert preferred.
• Alternate: high school diploma with 8 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Train to implement real-time actions for stable, reliable bulk electric system operation.
• Learn to monitor high voltage transmission (115 kV+) using EMS.
• Develop ability to switch high voltage lines safely under NERC/RE standards.
