Job summary

Harford Academy, part of Harford County Public Schools, seeks a paraeducator to support instruction and implement IEP/IFSP plans for students with special needs. You will assist with data collection, assessments, and behavior support.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, plus one of: an associate degree or 48 college credits; or passing paraprofessional exams. Must lift up to 40 pounds and work with students in person and virtually.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 48 college credits or passing paraprofessional exam required.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills essential.
• Ability to lift and transfer students up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to students during instruction.
• Implements lesson plans with individuals or small groups.
• Assists with data collection, testing, and assessments.
• Supports IEP/IFSP implementation for students with special needs.
• Monitors student behavior and assists with behavioral plans.
• May assist with personal care needs and classroom duties.
