Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Possibility of an associate degree or 48 college credits, or passing a paraprofessional exam.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to perform restraint techniques as trained.
• Ability to lift and transfer students up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to students during instruction.
• Implements teacher lesson plans with individuals or small groups.
• Works under the teacher's direction to provide instruction.
• Assists with data collection, testing, and student assessment.
• Assists with IEP/IFSP implementation for students as placement allows.
• Monitors student behavior and applies behavioral strategies.
• Provides personal care assistance as needed (lifting, feeding, toileting, etc).
• Prepares instructional materials for students.
• Assists with school-wide duties and coverage.
• Participates in professional development.
• Supports students remotely via digital platforms when applicable.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
