Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations in La Crosse, WI. You will support the Store Manager in sales, appearance, and team leadership, supervising staff and ensuring smooth execution of tasks.

You will also assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating team members, with a focus on safety and compliance. The role emphasizes development through the company’s certification programs and ongoing performance reviews.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Must complete Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.
• Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately.
• Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systems.
• O’Reilly store and/or distribution center experience.
• Completed O’Reilly management training program.
• ASE Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager in areas of sales, appearance, and overall operations of store.
• Supervise professional and retail operations of store and team members.
• Work with District Manager and Store Manager on recruiting, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and discharging staff.
• Communicate information from Zipline and store managers’ meetings to team members.
• Train new team members and handle performance evaluations with pay increase recommendations.
• Support store manager with safety compliance and training across departments.
• Assist in hiring processes including interviewing and candidate evaluation.
• Ensure store and hub store upkeep, scheduling, payroll, and cash handling.
• Monitor profitability and review monthly P&L with store manager.
