Transdev North America, Inc. in Portland, OR is seeking a Training Manager to lead both behind-the-wheel and classroom training, ensuring safety standards are met and drivers achieve operational excellence.

You will coordinate with corporate and client teams to identify training needs and maintain thorough documentation in compliance with safety regulations. The role focuses on defensive driving, passenger safety and driver performance, requiring extensive driving experience and strong knowledge

Qualifications

• Four years’ training management experience in an operation similar in size and scope.
• 2 years of Public Transit experience is required.
• Understanding of DOT/FTA/FMCSA rules and regulations is essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of presenting to groups.
• Experience designing and delivering safety training programs.

Responsibilities

• Provides behind-the-wheel instruction per corporate and client specs, emphasizing safety and passenger transportation.
• Oversees classroom and driving training in line with location requirements.
• Maintains up-to-date safety manuals, programs and procedures and ensures compliance.
• Documents all training activities and maintains training records.
• Develops safety training to reduce accidents and heighten safety awareness.
• Creates tracking processes for training and compliance data as needed.
• Collaborates with client and corporate personnel to identify training needs and resources.
• Works with local Safety Manager to design and deliver monthly and annual training.
• Maintains employee filing systems and participates in audits/inspections.
• May conduct accident investigations and assign retraining when needed.
• Performs road observations to assess operator safety and service quality.
