Job summary

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas is seeking an experienced Training Instructor for Bus Operator Trainees and Operators. You will deliver classroom and LMS-based training, promote safe operations, and support curriculum development to improve workforce capabilities.

Applicants should have a Texas CDL with passenger endorsement, strong communication and presentation skills, and a track record of safety-focused training delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree is preferred.
• Minimum three years as a Bus Operator with one year of relief training or supervisory experience.
• Experience making formal presentations and presenting to groups.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and conducts training programs for Bus Operator Trainees, Operators and METRO staff.
• Trains in classroom settings and on LMS, computer-based training, and simulators.
• Observes performance, documents records, and recommends progress or retraining as needed.
• Counsels operators, cites violations, and ensures compliance with DPS and FTA guidelines.
• Operates and supports safety programs, PTASP, and safety-management activities.
• Provides excellent internal and external customer service.
