Job summary

Regional Transportation Agency of Central Maryland is seeking a Safety and Training Instructor to train drivers/operators and other staff in safety and regulatory compliance. The role requires CDL-B with Passenger endorsement, multiple years of training experience, and strong classroom and field instruction skills.

Responsibilities include delivering diverse safety training, performing pre-trip inspections, post-incident coaching, and maintaining training documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years direct experience in Commercial Vehicle Operation - Class B or higher with Passenger endorsement and no airbrakes restriction.
• CDL Class B or higher with Passenger endorsement and no air brake restrictions.
• At least 2 years of direct experience in Training/Instructing.
• At least 1 year of direct experience in transit safety duties.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Card).
• Fluency in English; ability to work non-standard hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel and route training for new drivers/operators.
• Conduct safety training for drivers, maintenance staff, dispatch and supervisors.
• Lead safety meetings and assist in developing training curriculum and materials.
• Monitor Drive-Cam program compliance and conduct safety debriefings.
