Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is hiring a Transit Management Analyst to oversee data collection, defect reporting, and the operation and scheduling of Track Geometry Cars and ultrasonic rail testing. You will analyze track defects, prepare reports and corrective recommendations, maintain defect databases, ensure quality control, and manage invoice submissions to the BSC.

The role requires strong communication and writing skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, Tableau, Power

Qualifications

• Master's degree in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, economics, or related fields.
• Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant professional experience in budget/finance/engineering/management/operations research, or related areas.
• For Associate Analyst, master's degree plus one year of relevant experience or bachelor's degree plus three years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate data collection and suspect defect reporting for Track Geometry Cars and Ultrasonic Rail Flaw Testing.
• Oversee scheduling, coverage, and testing of all mainline tracks.
• Analyze track geometry defects and prepare monthly reporting for the Automated Track Geometry group.
• Prepare detailed reports of conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain and update defect databases; ensure quality control of testing and reporting.
• Submit invoices to the BSC for processing and payment.
