Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation (TD) seeks a Manager- Bus Stop Planning and Accessibility to lead its bus stop programs and coordinate siting and design with DOT Bus Stop Management and the MTA. The role reports to the Director of Transit Planning and Policy and may manage staff.

The position advances accessibility, shelters, seating, and other bus stop improvements as outlined in Next Stop: Fast Buses, Better Service and related initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in city planning or related field from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor's degree plus one year of relevant experience in city planning.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience as described above.
• Graduate education substitutable for experience with 30 graduate credits for one year; must have a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead TD's bus stop programs including Bus Stop Accessibility (BSA) and Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI).
• Coordinate planning of all DOT bus stop assets across units (shelters, benches, leaning bars).
• Represent TD on bus stop siting and design with DOT Bus Stop Management, MTA, and other stakeholders.
• Manage staff and ensure plan targets (Next Stop: Fast Buses, Better Service) are met.
