Job summary

City of New York seeks a City Planner to lead the Transit Development unit's bus stop planning and accessibility initiatives. The role oversees Bus Stop Accessibility and Real Time Passenger Information programs, coordinating siting and design with DOT Bus Stop Management, MTA, and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Transit Planning and Policy, manage staff, and drive targets across shelters, seating, and pedestrian access as part of DOT's transit

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in city planning or related field is required or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of city planning experience may substitute for Master’s.
• Experience with bus stop planning and accessibility is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead TD’s bus stop programs, including Bus Stop Accessibility (BSA) and Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI).
• Coordinate planning of DOT bus stop assets with other units, MTA, and stakeholders.
• Represent TD on bus stop siting and design issues and ensure targets are met.
• Manage staff and report to the Director of Transit Planning and Policy.
