Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation seeks a Transit Development (TD) SME to advance bus priority treatments in street design projects across NYC. The role reports to the Director of Design for Policy and Guidance and serves as a technical resource for TPM, D&C, and Design Unit.

Responsibilities include researching best practices with organizations like NACTO, developing NYC-specific design details, delivering training to staff, and preparing bus-priority plans using AutoCAD and Civil

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• New York State Professional Engineer license required, active during employment.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Research and apply best practice bus priority treatments across NYC street projects.
• Develop bus-priority design details for NYC applications.
• Provide presentations/trainings to design staff and coordinate with Borough Directors.
• Prepare bus priority plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Assemble MTA External Partner Program submission packages and review borough designs.
• Review engineering plans with Borough Directors and ensure safety compliance.
