Job summary

Village Management Services, Inc. is seeking a Bus Dispatch/Operations Assistant responsible for coordinating driver assignments on fixed routes, evening shifts, lift-bus services and tours. You will monitor radios, manage daily paperwork and serve as a liaison with staff and the public.

The role requires a high school diploma and relevant experience in transportation or related operations, with emphasis on safety, communication and record-keeping. On-site work in California is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school including two years’ experience in transporting, communicating with passengers, and co-workers or equivalent combination of education and experience which produces the following.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
• Knowledge of computer and applicable software programs.
• Knowledge of the geography of the community.
• Ability to read, understand, interpret and explain rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule driver assignments for fixed bus routes, evening shift, lift-bus, lunch relief and tours.
• Monitor arrival and departure times of drivers/buses from Clubhouse 1 and designated bus stop.
• Monitor two-way radio base station and communicate with drivers; contact security in emergencies.
• Maintain records and updates for route schedules and related paperwork.
• Serve as back-up bus driver and assist passengers including mobility devices.
• Ensure safety and provide directions to passengers as needed.
