Transdev North America, Inc. in Elmira, NY seeks a Safety Manager to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company safety standards. You will lead recruitment and training of operator candidates and promote strong leadership and morale at the location.

The role focuses on overseeing safety programs, conducting training, and coordinating with clients and corporate teams to meet safety expectations. Shift flexibility and ability to work at multiple sites are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the passenger transportation industry.
• Experience in location safety management and/or operations management.
• Providing quality training, including creation and management of training materials.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 restrictions.

Responsabilités

• Provides behind-the-wheel instruction according to corporate and client specifications in all aspects of vehicle operation and passenger transportation.
• Conducts classroom training in accordance with corporate and location requirements.
• Ensure all safety manuals, programs, policies, and procedures are current and meet the needs of the location.
• Documents all training activities and ensure accurate completion of training-related employee records.
• Establishes relationships with client and corporate personnel to identify additional training needs and opportunities.
• Prepares and conducts monthly safety meetings.
• Maintains employee filing system and participates in audits/inspections.
• Directs the location drug & alcohol program including random drug testing and audits.
• Manages the injury prevention program to reduce workplace injuries.
• Conducts accident investigation using root-cause analysis and re-training as required.
• Responsible for maintaining/posting OSHA log.
• Conducts road observations to evaluate operator safety and service quality.
• Provides coaching and re-training on Drive Cam as needed.
• Responds to customer comments related to the service.
• Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
