Job summary

Transdev North America seeks a Transit Safety Manager to develop and oversee safety programs at the East Hartford location, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations. The role leads safety initiatives, conducts risk assessments, and promotes a culture of safety for employees, passengers, and the public.

Based in East Hartford, CT, this position supports the GHTD contract, with travel >15% as needed and responsibility for training, audits, and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• National Safety Council Defensive Driving Instructor certification or equivalent.
• 3+ years of safety management experience with supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor compliance with FTA, DOT, OSHA and state regulations.
• Lead safety training, audits, and risk assessments; maintain records.
