Mass Transit magazine is seeking a Transit Route Scheduler to manage daily scheduling and dispatching of Heartland Express Transportation services, coordinating rides across multiple counties and handling ticket management and public inquiries.

You will operate dispatch software, monitor radio communications, and prepare monthly route calendars while maintaining rider profiles and ensuring timely, courteous service in all weather and traffic conditions.

Competenze

• Associates degree or two years of related experience in office/dispatch roles.
• Experience with computers, including Word and Excel, and email.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Mansioni

• Answer incoming calls and route to appropriate staff.
• Operate radio, telephone, computer, and dispatch software.
• Schedule daily calls and reservations across multiple counties.
• Monitor radio/dispatch systems and inform supervisor of issues.
• Provide public transportation information and quality customer service.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with supervisors and other dispatchers.
• Manage bus tickets and prepare monthly route calendars.
• Maintain rider profiles and trip manifests.
• Back-ups and general tasks as needed.
