Job summary

HNTB Corporation seeks a Capital Region Transit & Rail Director to lead the group in design, development and delivery of project tasks, while managing scope, budget, and quality control. The role collaborates across the office to apply SSA and SDA processes and drives client pursuits and proposals.

You will coordinate priorities, staffing, and resources to ensure timely, high-quality service and participate in leadership activities and staff development for 25–40 employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 12 years of practical experience including 4 years of supervisory experience.
• Master’s degree with 15 years practical experience and 6 years supervisory experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises operating budgets for the departments within the Group and coordinates with the office budget.
• Oversees group activities, establishes priorities, assigns staff to projects.
• Collaborate with other groups, offices and divisions on work-sharing needs and opportunities.
• Drives strategic plan and SSA process on project pursuits and markets.
• Oversees contracting processes including scope, work plan and fee reviews.
• Oversees SDA process with Work Planning and Monthly Project Reviews.
• Assist in marketing responsibilities and client discovery, proposal generation, and win-to-work activities.
• Lead and assist in sales and marketing for department growth.
• Develop and execute the office strategic plan.
