Job summary

Via is seeking a Quality & Safety Manager to oversee safety, service quality, and operational efficiency for our transit services. In this in-person role, you will supervise and train drivers, respond to incidents, and uphold service standards in the field 4-5 days per week.

You will conduct ride-alongs, monitor performance, coach drivers, and collaborate with the Field Manager to deliver ongoing training. You will manage post-accident protocols as DER for DOT compliance and serve as the main

Qualifications

Experience in transit supervision or transportation management.
Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to coach drivers.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct on-the-road supervision, including ride-alongs to ensure safety and service standards.
Monitor driver interactions and provide coaching on safety protocols.
Partner with the Field Manager to deliver initial, remedial, and refresher training.
Deliver hands‑on coaching on procedures and service expectations.
Lead post-incident protocols as DER for DOT compliance.
Act as primary contact for urgent operational issues to ensure service continuity.
Review complaint reports and training documentation.
Conduct training needs assessments and implement improvements.
85% on‑the‑road supervision, 15% training and administrative duties.
