Job summary

North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) invites an intern to support transit projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth region. The position is at least 25 hours per week while you attend school, located in Arlington, TX, with responsibilities across project coordination, documentation, and technical assistance to small transit providers.

Qualifications

• Must be attending an accredited college or university during employment.
• No work experience required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, implement, and manage short-term transit-related projects.
• Assist with developing document-sharing systems and websites for transit providers outside the metroplex.
• Maintain documentation and records and support file management systems.
• Assist with asset management, including inventory reconciliation and site visits.
• Help review and implement best practices in transit workforce development.
• Support partnerships and oversight documentation with supervisor and partner agencies.
• Streamline project invoices and related documents to meet commitments.
• Identify eligible funding sources to support transit project expenses.
