Job summary

COTA in Columbus, OH seeks a supervisory professional to ensure the fixed route transit service runs reliably. You will oversee daily operations, dispatch staff, and coordinate with police, safety, and public agencies as needed.

Requires an Associate's degree and four years of supervisory or transportation leadership experience, plus a Class B CDL with Airbrake & Passenger endorsements. Training and certifications may be required to cover all assignments.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree plus four years of supervisory/leadership experience or equivalent.
• Must possess or obtain Class B CDL with Airbrake & Passenger endorsements.
• Must have ability to obtain TSI certification, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and manages daily operation of fixed route system ensuring compliance with laws and policies.
• Evaluates staff performance and counsels assigned staff, monitoring operator efficiency.
• Participates in staff selection and training to close skill gaps.
• Manages on-site street operations and dispatches bus operators per schedules.
• Maintains communication with public, police, safety, and other departments regarding service changes.
