Job summary

The Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee fixed route and shuttle operations. The role combines on-road supervision and dispatch duties, monitoring service, supporting drivers, handling incidents, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include coordinating CAD-driven transit operations, communicating with drivers and law enforcement, and coaching operators to address performance concerns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class B with passenger endorsement required.
• Five years of transit operator or supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with CARTA routes, schedules, and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate daily transit operations using CAD systems.
• Track vehicles in real time to ensure on-time performance and route coverage.
• Communicate with drivers, supervisors, and law enforcement as needed.
• Adjust schedules and routes to address service disruptions.
• Conduct on-road observations to evaluate driver performance and safety.
