Job summary

Transdev is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily transit operations and supervise operators, dispatchers, and support staff. The role involves coordinating with maintenance, tracking performance, and ensuring service quality across the operation.

The position requires a CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement, 3+ years of supervisory transit experience, and strong communication skills. DOT compliance and flexible scheduling are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL Class B or higher with Passenger endorsement and Air brake endorsement or ability to obtain one.
• 3+ years supervisory experience; transit experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of transit regulations and operations.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel and relevant database programs.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented attitude and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work with labor; may involve labor grievances and negotiations.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and compliance with DOT 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of all operators and coordinates with supervisors and dispatch personnel.
• Oversees scheduling of operators and coordinates service delivery with superiors.
• Collaborates with maintenance to meet operation service requirements.
• Tracks, analyzes performance and resolves interdepartmental issues; improves routing.
• Makes hiring decisions for authorized roles and evaluates staff performance.
• Assists in accident investigations and supports safety/training personnel.
• Coordinates with safety and training to meet safety goals.
• May operate a revenue vehicle if necessary.
• Performs other duties as required.
