Job summary

LTD Lane Transit District is seeking a Transit Operations Manager to lead daily operations of the Eugene-area transit system. You will supervise operations staff, drive improvements in safety, reliability and customer service, and coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to deliver efficient service.

The role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and adherence to safety and labor policies.

Qualifications

Minimum four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in public transit operations or related field.
At least three (3) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
Education can substitute for years of experience with relevant coursework.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize and direct daily transit operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service delivery.
Provide leadership, supervision and performance management for supervisory staff.
Monitor performance, staffing, and cost effectiveness; implement efficiency improvements.
Assist in budget development, administration and monitoring; optimize resource use.
Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and bargaining agreements.
Partner with HR on workforce planning, recruitment, and employee relations.
Administer drug and alcohol testing program and ensure compliance with FTA/DOT requirements.
Participate in procurement activities and vendor management for operations.
Serve as liaison with Service Planning, Fleet Maintenance, Marketing, HR, and external agencies.
Support special projects, emergency response, and organizational priorities.
