Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Fixed Route General Manager in Spartanburg, SC to lead the location, deliver annual business plans, and manage daily operations of the transportation contract in line with agency and company policies.

You will supervise staff, oversee maintenance, safety programs, and labor relations, while driving client satisfaction and contract renewals through strong operations and financial management.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of management experience in supervising and operating a fixed-cost transit property or similar operation.
• Labor/union negotiations/expenses expertise.
• Understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, safety, and DOT/FTA compliance.
• MS Office proficiency, strong analytical, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach programs.
• Identify, select, train and mentor location staff.
• Communicate frequently with location staff and support team members.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and fleet availability to meet service requirements.

• Conduct periodic departmental audits.
• Review key operational metrics daily, weekly and monthly.

• Create and present location annual budgets.

Responsibilities

MV Transportation isseeking aFixed Route General Manager to support proposed business. The General Manager will provide leadership and direction to assigned operating location to ensure delivery of annual business plans. He/she will control the daily operation of our transportation contract, in compliance with the policies of the contracting agency and in conformance with company procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage customer relations through both direct contact and outreach programs.
• Identify, select, train and mentor location staff.
• Effectively and frequently communicate with location staff and support team members.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and ensures fleet availability to meet service requirements.
• Oversee safety and training programs, plans and processes to ensure compliance withcompany, contract and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations.
• Conduct periodic departmental audits.
• Daily, weekly and monthly review of key operational metrics.
• Ensure that all location financial metrics are managed continuously, exceptions are reported and action plans are developed to ensure the location meets it financial, safety and operational expectations.
• Implement, promote and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Participate in location(s) labor and employee relations activities.
• Provide insight and information to support location(s) contract renewals.
• Create and present location(s) annual budget.

Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

• College degree or equivalent business management experience.
• Management experience required.
• Shall possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience, within the past seven (7) years, serving as a manager responsible for supervising and operating a fixed-cost transit property or operation of comparable size and scope.
• Must have labor/union(s) negotiations/expenses expertise.
• Must have a full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety, DOT, and FTA compliance.
• MS Office, strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a high degree of multitasking skills.
• Additional duties/responsibilitiesbased upon individual contract requirements.
