Eagle County Government is hiring Transit Mechanics in Colorado to maintain the Core Transit fleet and keep the local bus system safe and reliable. Positions are offered at Mechanic I or Mechanic II level, with growth opportunities within the department.

Mechanic I requires 1+ year of maintenance experience; Mechanic II requires 3+ years of journey-level experience and may include ASE certifications. Housing is available, and the schedule is designed for 4-10s with CDL support during the first

Qualifications

• 1+ year of maintenance experience on gas/diesel vehicles and wheel/tire repair.
• Valid driver's license (satisfactory MVR) and ability to obtain a CDL within 12 months.
• Preferred ASE Certifications (Transit Bus, Medium/Heavy Truck, or Automotive).

Responsabilités

• Mechanic I: perform PM services, inspect systems, assist with road service, replace wheels/tires, and learn advanced diagnostics.
• Mechanic II: diagnose complex mechanical/electronic failures, perform annual DOT inspections, use scanners/schematics to troubleshoot, and handle emergency call-outs.
