Job summary

Eagle County Government is seeking a Transit Service Writer to bridge Fleet Services and Core Transit for vehicle maintenance. The role ensures smooth coordination of repairs, scheduling, and service communications to keep local transit moving safely in Eagle River Valley.

Requires 3+ years in automotive/service roles, strong computer skills, and ASE certifications preferred. On-site work with supportive benefits and housing options may be available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in automotive repair or service writer roles.
• Valid driver’s license with clean motor vehicle record.
• Ability to translate non-technical descriptions into clear technical language.
• Strong computer, POS, and digital work order skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between Fleet Services and Core Transit for vehicle maintenance.
• Schedule service, create work orders, track progress, and process payments.
• Communicate repair scope, costs, and parts needs to supervisors.
• Address customer questions and manage grievances during repairs.
• Perform light maintenance and diagnostics with safety compliance.
