Eagle County Government in Colorado is seeking Transit Mechanics at the I or II level to service and maintain the Core Transit fleet, ensuring our local bus system remains safe, dependable, and efficient.

Mechanic I requires 1+ year of maintenance on gas/diesel vehicles; CDL within 12 months with support from us. Mechanic II requires 3+ years of journey-level experience; ASE/Technical degree preferred. Schedule: 4-10's, training first year.

Formación

• 1+ year of maintenance experience on gas/diesel vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license (satisfactory MVR).
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 12 months (we help you get it!).
• 3+ years of journey-level mechanic experience on gas/diesel, or transit equipment (Mechanic II).
• Preferred: Technical degree or ASE Certifications (Transit Bus, Medium/Heavy Truck, or Automotive).

Responsabilidades

• Perform PM services, inspect operating/air systems, assist with road service, replace wheels/tires, and learn advanced diagnostics alongside experienced mechanics.
• Diagnose mechanical/electronic system failures, perform annual DOT inspections, use electronic scanners/schematics to troubleshoot, and handle emergency call-outs/road repairs.
