Job summary

Eagle County Government seeks a Transit Service Writer to bridge Fleet Services and Core Transit, coordinating vehicle maintenance and repair needs to keep local public transportation moving in the Eagle River Valley.

The role emphasizes technical communication, software-driven work orders, and strong customer relations, with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. Employee housing may be available to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in automotive repair, service advisor, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
• Ability to translate non-technical driver descriptions into clear technical language.
• Strong computer skills, POS experience, and managing digital work orders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate between Fleet Services and Core Transit to schedule maintenance.
• Use FASTER to schedule, create work orders, track progress, and process payments.
• Communicate repair scopes, costs, and parts needs to supervisors.
• Address questions and manage grievances during repair process.
• Assist with light maintenance and diagnostics while following safety rules.
