Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead the day-to-day maintenance of a fixed-route bus operation. You will ensure contractual compliance and manage budgeting for a large transit program, with a focus on efficient, safe service delivery.

The role requires extensive leadership experience, strong communication skills, and a solid background in diesel/alternative-fuel fleets. ASE certifications and a CDL Class B with P and airbrake endorsements are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in a management role for a fixed-cost transit property or operation.
• Experience supervising 10+ employees (fleet technicians/service workers/ cleaners).
• Experience with a large bus fleet (300+) and multiple locations.
• Experience interfacing with clients and managing vendor relationships.
• Strong budgeting and financial reporting for fleet maintenance.
• Proficiency in MS Office and PM scheduling tools.
• Technical competence in light/medium/heavy-duty vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of diesel, CNG, and alternative fuels is a plus.
• Preferred HASTUS software experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations for fixed-route bus service.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and performance metrics.
• Prepare and review daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance reports.
• Manage budget and financial aspects of a large transit maintenance program.
