Job summary

The City of Charlotte's Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Crew Member to perform routine cleaning, minor repairs, and upkeep of bus stops, shelters, stations, and other passenger facilities. You will work under supervision of a Stops or Stations Supervisor and help keep transit environments safe, accessible, and customer-ready.

The role requires high school diploma or GED and at least one year in facilities maintenance or custodial work, plus ability to work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience in facilities maintenance, custodial work, or related field.
• Experience using basic hand tools and cleaning equipment.
• Ability to perform outdoor physical work in varying weather.
• Willingness to work in field across multiple locations and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and upkeep at passenger facilities (bus stops, shelters, stations, platforms).
• Carry out minor maintenance such as replacing panels, signs, lighting components.
