Job summary

The City of Charlotte, through the Charlotte Area Transit System, is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Crew Member to perform routine cleaning, upkeep, and minor repairs at public transit facilities. You will help ensure clean, accessible, and safe environments across stops, stations, and related assets.

Reporting to a supervisor, the role involves hands-on field work, documentation of tasks, and collaboration with a team to maintain passenger amenities and respond to service requests as part of

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
  • Experience using basic hand tools and cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain passenger facilities at bus stops, shelters, rail stations, platforms, and related locations.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks on shelters and amenities as needed.
  • Identify hazards, report issues, and assist with safety and accessibility improvements.
  • Record work completed and follow routes, schedules, and checklists in the field.
  • Interact professionally with riders and coworkers while performing duties.
