Job summary

The City of Charlotte’s Charlotte Area Transit System seeks a Facilities Maintenance Crew Member to maintain passenger facilities at bus stops, shelters, and stations. You will perform routine cleaning, minor repairs, and basic upkeep to ensure clean, accessible, and safe transit environments.

You will work in the field across multiple locations, follow safety procedures, document completed work, and interact professionally with riders and staff while supporting daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent.
• One year of experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
• Ability to perform outdoor physical work in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and upkeep of bus stops, shelters, rails, and platforms.
• Perform minor maintenance and replacement of shelter components.
• Identify hazards and report as needed to supervisor.
• Record completed work and observations in required systems.
• Interact professionally with riders and transit personnel.
